Prince Charles has made a donation to the families of two Canadian soldiers killed in recent attacks in Ottawa and Quebec, Clarence House has confirmed.
The Canadian Press reports that the donation is “substantial,” but Clarence House did not disclose the exact amount.
The Prince of Wales’ Charitable Foundation made the contribution to the True Patriot Love Foundation which is managing donations coming through the Stand on Guard Fund for the families of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo and Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent.

Cirillo was killed last week as he stood guard at the National War Memorial. The gunman then stormed Parliament Hill and was killed in an exchange of gunfire with police and security inside Centre Block.
Two days earlier, Vincent was struck by a car and killed at a strip mall parking lot in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. The assailant was killed by police after a brief chase.
