Police officers in Brampton, Ont. helped rescue a mother duck and 10 ducklings that were found hiding from a nearby hawk under a car.
Peel Regional Police Const. Rachel Gibbs said a woman was driving through the intersection of Centre Drive and Team Canada Drive on Saturday morning when she noticed the animals hurrying under her vehicle.
A group of nearby officers saw what happened and stopped to help, Gibbs said, calling the incident “not something we see every day.”
Police tweeted a photo of the animals huddled underneath the vehicle as the predator waited, perched on top of a nearby lamp post.
