A Saskatchewan woman has taken home a memorable souvenir from a recent trip to Nova Scotia.

Tanya Jimmy purchased a Lotto Max ticket while attending a conference in Halifax about two weeks ago and ended up winning the $1 million prize.

Jimmy wasn't planning on returning to the East Coast so soon, but after Googling the winning numbers while back at her Onion Lake, Sask. home she booked a flight to New Brunswick with her husband. She picked up her prize in Moncton, N.B. on Wednesday.

Jimmy said it was her husband Ashley's idea to buy the ticket.

"I noticed that most of the lotto winners are on the east side of Canada," Ashley Jimmy told CTV News. "So I just figured maybe we'd get lucky, and she did."

The couple says they already have a few ideas about what to do with their winnings.

"Investing and paying off our debts, and probably creating our boys some trust accounts," she said.

Jimmy was one of eight people across Canada who purchased a winning ticket.
