A cringe-worthy video of a luxury SUV struggling to squeeze into a narrow parking garage in Vancouver is being credited with helping police track down a teenager allegedly involved in a hit-and-run.

The YouTube video, cheekily titled “How to Park Your Porsche in Vancouver,” shows the white Porsche Cayenne SUV crunch against a garage entrance as the driver revs the gas, causing chunks of the bumper to fall off.

Someone off-screen can be heard shouting “Just about got it!” as the wheels screech and the vehicle rams against a wall.

Vancouver police told CTV Vancouver that they saw the video and contacted the driver – a 16-year-old boy who police say does not have a driver’s license – and laid several charges related to a hit-and-run last week.

A police spokesperson said the teen’s mother was away last Thursday, when they say the boy took the Porsche for a drive and allegedly hit a parked car.

Police described the accident as minor but said the Porsche sustained some damage.

The teen has been charged with driving without due care, hit and run, police said.

Police said they originally only had a description of the vehicle involved in the alleged hit-and-run, and the video helped narrow their investigation.
