The B.C. Coroners Service says a foot found on a Vancouver Island beach was not deliberately severed from the body.
Hikers on Botanical Beach came across the foot Sunday. The foot was still inside a sock and shoe.
Coroners said Wednesday that the foot had been naturally detached from the rest of the body, likely as a result of being in the water for a long time.
It's the 13th foot to be found on the shores of B.C. since 2007.
Ten of the 13 feet have been linked to accidental deaths or suicides, based on DNA comparisons through the RCMP's missing persons service.
