HALIFAX -- The younger sister of a missing Halifax university student said Tuesday her family is experiencing an emotional roller-coaster as they continue to make public appeals for any clues on what happened to her, nearly two weeks after she vanished.

Loretta Saunders, 26, was last seen on the morning of Feb. 13 after leaving her boyfriend's home to check on an apartment in Halifax that she was subletting to two people who were later accused of stealing her car.

Delilah Terriak, who held her second news conference in less than a week, spoke of the toll her sister's disappearance has taken on the family.

"We have our ups and downs, but we are keeping her strength and her hope in our hearts," Terriak said.

James Saunders sat by her side, holding up fresh photographs of his sister alongside earlier posters that have been put up along highways and in city neighbourhoods.

Terriak spoke after attending a morning court hearing for Blake Leggette, 25, who was brought back to Halifax from Windsor, Ont., to face charges of possession of stolen goods and fraud.

A judge ordered Leggette, who did not appear in court, to return to jail until his bail hearing Friday.

Halifax police said officers were in Windsor, Ont., on Tuesday to escort 28-year-old Victoria Henneberry back to their city for a court hearing Thursday. She is also charged with possession of stolen goods and fraud.

Terriak said it's important to keep appealing to the public for any information in the case.

"I feel it's very important ... to keep her face out there and keep people hopeful," she said.

Yalcin Surkultay, Saunders's boyfriend, accompanied her family to court on Tuesday and said he was grateful for the support they've offered him.

"I'm trying to stay strong," he said. "I'm glad the family is making me feel like family too."
