SAINT JOHN, N.B. -- The number of customers without power in New Brunswick continues to dwindle after a week of outages that left thousands in the dark.
NB Power is reporting fewer than 4,000 outages, down from about 12,000 Saturday.
Most of the outages remain in the southwestern part of the province, with the hardest hit areas in Rothesay and St. Stephen.
More than 50,000 customers lost their power last week after an ice storm.
Additional line and tree-trimming crews were sent to New Brunswick from the other Maritime provinces, Quebec and the United States to assist with efforts as Environment Canada warned of another winter storm Sunday.
Forecasters have since lifted weather warnings for the province, except for a wind chill warning that remains in effect for northern New Brunswick.
Meanwhile, crews in Nova Scotia are trying to determine the cause of outages affecting about 2,000 customers in that province.
The utility says it hopes to have the issue resolved early today.
A handful of flights in and out of the Halifax airport have been cancelled or delayed following a night of rain.
