The biggest Lotto 6/49 jackpot in Canadian history -- estimated to be worth $55 million -- will be up for grabs this Saturday.

The winning ticket will break the previous record of $54.3 million, which was claimed by a lucky group of Canadians in Western Canada in 2005.

“We’re thrilled to offer players the largest estimated jackpot in the game’s history,” Wendy Montgomery, vice president of marketing and sales at Ontario Lottery and Gaming, said in a statement.

This past Friday, a 51-year-old Toronto grandmother won $40 million in the Lotto Max lottery.

Maria Carreiro first thought she had won $40,000 in the April 5 draw, but later discovered the extra zeros.
