1. Ottawa bus-train crash update: CTVNews.ca will have a live stream of the Transportation Safety Board's update on its investigation the morning rush-hour collision between a bus and a train in Ottawa which killed six people in September, 2013. 2. Harper in NYC: Prime Minister Stephen Harper's itinerary takes him to the Big Apple over the next couple of days, starting with a question-and-answer session with business executive at the Goldman Sachs Tower on Wednesday. He's due at the UN too, one day after missing its high-profile summit on climate change. Harper sent Environment Minister Leona Aglukkaq in his stead Tuesday, to announce that Canada will follow the U.S. lead on climate change.

3. More airstrikes in Syria: At least 10 airstrikes hit suspected Islamic State positions in an eastern Syrian town near the Iraqi border, activists said Wednesday. There was no immediate comment from the United States or its Arab allies.

4. MOM in Mars orbit: India's first attempt at achieving interplanetary orbit is officially a success. The Mars Orbiter Mission – nicknamed MOM – completed its 10-month journey to the red planet late Tuesday night, making the Indian Space and Research Organisation the first group to reach Mars other than NASA, the European Space Agency, and the former Soviet Union.

5. BlackBerry Passport: The once-mighty Canadian tech company launches its Passport today, in a bid to woo back enterprise users. Besides its unique keyboard, the new widescreen device is expected to have a lower price than Apple's iPhone 6 and the latest version of the Samsung Galaxy.
