MONTREAL - Young Quebec filmmaker Xavier Dolan won't leave Cannes empty handed.

His film, "Heartbeats," won the "Regards jeunes" prize on Saturday at the prestigious film festival.

The prize is awarded by a European jury of seven young cinephiles.

It's Dolan's second year at Cannes.

In 2009, the young filmmaker won three prizes for his debut effort, "I Killed my Mother."
