Brandon police officers have charged a semi-truck driver with dangerous driving causing death following a fatal cash Wednesday afternoon. According to a release from police, the crash took place at the intersection of Highway 110 and Richmond Avenue East in Brandon, Man. Emergency crews responded to the crash at 3:20 p.m. Police allege the 35-year-old male driver of a northbound semi-truck did not stop at a stop sign, went through the intersection and hit a SUV heading west. The force of the crash caused both vehicles to hit another semi that was stopped at the intersection. The driver of the SUV, a 49-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the only person in the vehicle at the time. Police said the drivers of both semis did not appear to suffer significant injuries. The 35-year-old semi driver has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and was taken into custody. He is scheduled to appear in Brandon court on Thursday.
