Winnipeg Transit bus catches fire on Portage Avenue

Emergency crews were called to Portage Avenue over the weekend for a fire involving a Winnipeg Transit bus.

Emergency crews were called to a busy Winnipeg thoroughfare over the weekend after a bus caught fire.

The city told CTV News the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called Saturday afternoon to the intersection of Portage Avenue and Arlington Street for a fire involving a Winnipeg Transit bus.

The bus was safely evacuated, the city said, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

No one was hurt.
