A film production coming to Winnipeg is looking for background actors who know their way around a curling rink. The movie is called “Sticks and Stones,” and it centres on American curler John Shuster and his journey to Olympic gold. The production is looking for special skills extras of all ages who know how to curl. Ideally, it would like active curlers who have their own gear and belong to a team or a league. The casting directors are also seeking other characters, including athletes, airport travellers and restaurant patrons. Filming of “Sticks and Stones” runs from Nov. 17 to Dec. 19, 2025, and Jan. 12 to 16, 2026.
