The Manitoba ridings that saw the highest and lowest voter turnout

Multiple incumbents and some new faces will be heading to Ottawa following the election.

From a battleground riding in Winnipeg to an NDP stronghold in the north—here is a look at the voter turnout in Manitoba.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Elections Canada had Manitoba’s voter turnout pegged at 67.25 per cent, with 100 per cent of polls reporting. It’s the highest voter turnout in the province in at least two decades.

Winnipeg West saw the highest voter turnout of Manitoba’s ridings, with just over 75 per cent of registered voters casting a ballot. The Liberals ousted the Conservatives from the riding with Doug Eyolfson collecting more than 50 per cent of the vote. Defeated incumbent Marty Morantz brought in just over 40 per cent.

Meanwhile, Churchill—Keewatinook Aski, once an NDP stronghold, saw the lowest voter turnout in the province. Only 42.95 per cent of registered voters cast a ballot in the riding. It is the only riding in the province to see less than half of its voters cast a ballot.
