Winnipeg firefighters responded to a blaze early Saturday morning that involved two homes — one of which has caught fire six times in the past two years. Crews were called to the 400 block of Redwood Avenue at 12:29 a.m. for reports of a fire. When they arrived, they found two houses burning. One of the homes was vacant and boarded up. Firefighters initially used a defensive strategy before switching to an offensive attack. The fire was brought under control about an hour after crews were dispatched. According to a media release, one of the homes had previously been damaged by fire five times — in November and December 2023, on Oct. 16 and Oct. 27, 2024, and again in November 2024.
