Manitoba RCMP is warning the public to expect delays on Highway 59 and around the Perimeter Highway on Saturday morning. The delays are due to the Truck Ride for Special Olympics, which will see about 150 commercial trucks and law enforcement patrol vehicles travel north from Île-des-Chênes on Highway 59. The convoy will then complete a counterclockwise lap around the Perimeter before returning to the community south of Winnipeg. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. at TC Energy Centre in Île-des-Chênes and is expected to finish by 11:30 a.m. The Truck Ride for Special Olympics is a collaborative event between the province’s trucking industry and the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The event raises money and awareness for Manitoba athletes in the Special Olympics.
