More than 2,500 customers are without power Wednesday night. According to Manitoba Hydro’s outage map, roughly 2,500 customers in and around Brandon, Oak Lake, and Wawanesa lost power shortly before 10 p.m. While Manitoba Hydro said the cause of each outage is to be determined, its outage map followed the path of a thunderstorm that rolled through the region Wednesday. Hydro estimated power will be restored by 1 a.m. Thursday. Meantime, between Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg, approximately 200 customers lost power between 9:30 and 10 p.m. Its cause was not specified, however Hydro expected power to be restored by 1 a.m. Thursday.
