The second week of this season’s Winnipeg high school football action culminated with eight games on Friday. The St. Norbert Celtics faced the Fort Frances Muskies, with St. Norbert coming out victorious with a 21-17 win. The Beaver Brae Broncos shut out the Daniel McIntrye Maroons 48-0, while the Portage Trojans beat the St. John’s Tigers 43-36. Meanwhile, the Vincent Massey Vikings dominated the Steinbach Sabres 20-7 and the Grant Park Pirates squeezed out a 32-27 win against the Sturgeon Heights Huskies. Murdoch McKay grabbed a 35-30 victory against the Elmwood Giants while the Churchill Bulldogs nearly doubled up the John Taylor Pipers 24-13. Finally, the Dakota Lancers dominated the Vincent Massey Trojans with a score of 30-15. Week three of high school football begins with a pair of games on Tuesday.
