The Winnipeg Jets will throw it back to a bygone era later this month when they square off against the Montreal Canadiens at the 2026 NHL Heritage Classic. The Jets will hit the ice on Oct. 25 at Winnipeg’s Princess Auto Stadium decked out in predominately white jerseys featuring the team’s primary logo, which was first introduced in 1973. “The Jets’ NHL Heritage Classic uniform pays homage to the franchise’s classic look of the 1980s and 1990s presented in white to complement the team’s current navy alternate jersey,” the NHL wrote in a news release Wednesday. The Jets wore a similar jersey at the 2016 Heritage Classic against the Edmonton Oilers. This year’s edition also includes an array of navy blue and red stripes and a Heritage Classic crest on the shoulder commemorating the event. Meantime, the Habs will don a red, blue, and off-white sweater that “draws on multiple design details from throughout the team’s storied jersey history.” The Oct. 25 game will mark the eighth edition of the NHL Heritage Classic and the third time the Winnipeg Jets have played in the outdoor game. The Heritage Classic weekend schedule also includes an alumni game slated for Oct. 24 at Canada Life Centre. Jets legends, including Blake Wheeler, Dustin Byfuglien, Andrew Ladd, and Bryan Little, are expected to suit up against a roster of former Canadiens players.
