Winnipeg North will once again go to the Liberals. CTV News is declaring incumbent Kevin Lamoureux re-elected. Details about the riding can be found below. He has represented the riding since a victory in a 2010 byelection. History The riding was first contested from 1917 to 1997 when it was renamed Winnipeg North – St. Paul. In 2003, the riding was abolished and recreated in its current form. The riding was typically an NDP stronghold until 2010 when Lamoureux won a byelection to replace Judy Wasylycia-Leis, who resigned to run for mayor of Winnipeg. Boundaries The riding includes Garden City, Mynarski, The Maples, Tyndall Park and other neighbourhoods in the northern area of the city. Demographics The riding is home to 101,221 people as of the 2021 census, a 5.8 per cent increase from 2016. The riding has a 34 per cent Filipino population, a 15 per cent South Asian population, and has the highest percentage of Tagalog speakers in the province, with 19.1 per cent.
