All candidates have been declared in Manitoba in a federal election that saw the Liberals make gains, the Tories break even and the NDP lose in all but one riding in the province. At the end of the night, the Conservatives gained the Elmwood – Transcona riding with Colin Reynolds taking the seat from NDP’s Leila Dance. However the party lost the Winnipeg West riding, with incumbent Marty Morantz ousted by Liberal Doug Eyolfson. The Tories ended the night breaking even with seven seats in the province. Meanwhile, the Liberals made gains Monday night. Along with Eyolfson’s win in Winnipeg West, Rebecca Chartrand turned the NDP stronghold of Churchill—Keewatinook Aski red. She unseats Niki Ashton who has held the riding as MP since 2008. The NDP took a hit with the loss of Manitoba’s largest geographical riding, along with Elmwood – Transcona, which flipped blue. The party ended the night with one seat in Manitoba held by Leah Gazan, who was able to fend off a Liberal surge in Winnipeg Centre. All in, the Liberals ended the night with six seats in the province. Here is a look at how election night unfolded in the province’s 14 ridings: 6:30 a.m. CST: Winners declared in all Manitoba ridings As of early Tuesday morning, winners have been elected in all the 14 ridings in Manitoba. CTV News has declared NDP incumbent Leah Gazan has been re-elected in Winnipeg Centre. At the time of publishing, Gazan has 39.7 per cent of the vote with 166 of 167 polls reporting. CTV News has declared Raquel Dancho with the Conservative Party has been re-elected. At the time of publishing, Dancho has 47.6 per cent of the vote with 207 of 208 polls reporting. Read more about Dancho’s riding here. 12:15 a.m. CST: Last two Manitoba ridings remain in play As election night nears a close, two Manitoba ridings remain in play. There is a tight race in Winnipeg Centre between NDP incumbent Leah Gazan and Liberal candidate Rahul Walia. At the time of publishing, Gazan had 39.6 per cent of the vote, while Rahul had 34.8 per cent with 165 of 167 polls reporting. In Kildonan – St. Paul, Tory incumbent Raquel Dancho has been fighting to hold onto her seat, maintaining a close lead over Liberal candidate Thomas Naaykens. At the time of publishing, Dancho had 47.7 per cent of the vote while Naaykens had 43.7 per cent with 177 of 208 polls reporting. No calls have been made yet by CTV News in these ridings. 10:52 p.m. CST: Liberals take NDP stronghold in Churchill—Keewatinook Aski The Liberals have taken the NDP stronghold riding of Churchill—Keewatinook Aski. CTV News has declared Liberal candidate Rebecca Chartrand elected. This Liberal win takes the riding from the NDP’s Niki Ashton, who has held the seat since 2008. At the time of publishing, Chartrand had 47.5 per cent of the vote with 84 of the 181 polls reporting. CTV News has declared Liberal candidate Doug Eyolfson has been elected, swinging the riding away from Conservative’s Marty Morantz. At the time of publishing, Eyolfson has 51.1 per cent of the vote with 140 of the 191 polls reporting. CTV News has declared Colin Reynolds with the Conservatives has been elected. He takes the seat from the NDP’s Leila Dance, who had previously won the September 2024 byelection. At the time of publishing, Reynolds has 45.3 per cent of the vote with 90 of the 157 polls reporting. CTV News has declared candidate Ginette Lavack elected in the riding. The riding was previously held by Liberal MP Dan Vandal who did not seek re-election. At the time of publishing, Lavack has 55.8 per cent of the vote with 30 of 196 polls reporting. CTV News has declared incumbent candidate Terry Duguid re-elected in Winnipeg South. At the time of publishing, Duguid has 56.5 per cent of the vote with 35 of the 166 polls reporting. At the time of publishing, Lamoureux has 57.4 per cent of the vote with 50 of the 152 polls reporting. CTV News has declared incumbent candidate Ben Carr has been re-elected. At the time of publishing, Carr has 61.8 per cent of the vote with 20 of 188 polls reporting. CTV News has declared incumbent candidate Branden Leslie re-elected. At the time of publishing, Leslie has 66.2 per cent of the vote with 35 of 195 polls reporting. At the time of publishing, Jackson has 63.8 per cent of the vote with 8 of the 194 polls reporting. Jackson’s win maintains the riding for the Tories. At the time of publishing, Mazier has 58.7 per cent of the vote with 25 of the 250 polls reporting. After 12 hours of voting to decide who will be Canada’s next leader, Manitobans’ ballots are now being counted. Polls opened at 8:30 a.m. Monday and closed at 8:30 p.m. Those waiting in line when polls close will still be able to cast their ballot.
