Manitobans are being encouraged to prepare for the 2026 camping season with campground reservations set to open in just a few weeks. Last week, the province announced reservations will open in stages over the span of five days. The process will begin on April 13 with reservations for cabins, yurts and group-use areas, followed by campsites at Birds Hill, Winnipeg Beach and Grand Beach on April 14. April 15 will see reservations open for campsites in Whiteshell Provincial Park, with spots opening up for northern and western region campgrounds on April 16. April 17 will then see reservations open for all remaining campground locations including Birch Point, Camp Morton, Hecla and Hnausa Beach. Each day, reservations will open at 7 a.m. and can be made online or by phone. The province has also introduced a new availability notification feature, which will allow campers to be notified if campsite that matches their preferred criteria becomes available. There will also be a new $10 cancellation fee, which will be applied to any reservation cancelled four or more days prior to arrival. Reservations cancelled within three days or less of arrival will be charged one night’s camping fee.
