Winnipeg police have seized multiple loaded firearms and more than $100,000 worth of cocaine following a series of search warrants executed in the Fort Richmond neighbourhood. On Friday, officers with the Guns & Gangs Unit searched two apartment suites in the 1–99 block of Bison Drive and a residence in the 500 block of College Avenue, as part of a drug trafficking investigation. At the first Bison Drive suite, police seized three loaded handguns, a prohibited rifle, a modified magazine, and various rounds of ammunition. Officers also recovered three kilograms of packaged cocaine with estimated value of $90,000, a cutting agent, $150,000 in cash, two cell phones, and approximately $200,000 worth of high-end jewellery and clothing. Other drug trafficking materials were also found. A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene and faces 15 firearm and drug-related charges. He was detained in custody. At the second Bison Drive suite, officers seized 240 grams of crack cocaine with estimated street value of $19,200, along with $45,000 in cash, high-end items worth $17,000, and additional trafficking materials. Police also searched a residence on College Avenue, where a 37-year-old man was arrested. Officers seized 32 packaged crack cocaine doses with estimated value of $640, $265 in cash, cell phones, and additional trafficking materials. A 26-year-old woman was arrested in the 300 block of Balmoral Street. Both 37-year-old man and 26-year-old woman are facing charges related to drug trafficking and proceeds of crime. They were released on undertakings.
