Four people have been charged after three women were allegedly assaulted and held against their will at a home in Moose Lake. According to RCMP, officers received a call from a 29-year-old woman, who claimed she and two other women were held against their will and assaulted at a nearby home. RCMP met with the women, who said they were accused of stealing money by the occupants of the home. They were then held against their will, searched and assaulted before being allowed to leave. The women said they saw a sawed-off shotgun, bear mace and machetes in the home. RCMP executed a search warrant on the home, and found multiple edged weapons, cash, ammunition and drug paraphernalia. Nine adults inside the home were arrested, but five people were later released without charge. A 28-year-old woman and 31-year-old woman were both arrested and charged with forcible confinement and assault, while a 33-year-old man was charged with resisting arrest and also arrested on several warrants. The three were detained in custody. A 40-year-old man was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and released on an undertaking. None of the charges against the four have been tested in court.
