While the sun is shining on the south, parts of the north will see showers, rain and snow on Monday in Manitoba. Temperatures are also soaring across southern Manitoba this afternoon. Daytime highs in the southwest will rise well above normal into the low 20s. Temperatures in the southeast won’t climb quite as high but will reach unseasonably warm upper teens. For perspective, Brandon is forecast to reach 20 C Monday afternoon, while the normal high for the Wheat City for this time of year is just 13 C. Winnipeg should also only reach around 13 C for early October, while temperatures are forecast to reach 17 C. While it will be warm across the south Monday, it will also be windy. Expect strong and gusty winds from the south and southeast. Winds will diminish in the southwest this evening, before easing overnight in the southeast. Sunshine will also spread across northwestern Ontario Monday afternoon, but temperatures will be closer to early October norms, with highs between 11 C and 14 C. Meanwhile, a warm front crossing northern Manitoba is bringing snow and rain to the region Monday. Daytime highs in those areas will be held to single digits. Precipitation in its various forms should miss central regions Monday, as daytime highs reach unseasonably warm double digits.
