The week is getting off to a soggy and unseasonably warm start in Manitoba and northwestern Ontario Monday. Southern and central Manitoba will see intermittent rain and drizzle throughout the day and tonight. Most southern areas, including Winnipeg, could see a total of five to 15 millimetres of precipitation, with the highest amounts expected in the southeast corner, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). Even more rain will fall further east, with much of northwestern Ontario expected to see anywhere from 10 to 25 mm before ending Tuesday. The weather agency said a warm front arcing into southern Manitoba from a low in Nebraska is sending the precipitation our way. The warm front will also help send temperatures soaring into the double digits in southern Manitoba and northwestern Ontario on Monday, well above normal for early November. For perspective, Winnipeg is forecast to reach 14 C this afternoon, when the daytime high for this time of year is just 3 C.
