Our streak of sunny and unseasonably warm late October days continues across Manitoba and northwestern Ontario on Wednesday. All regions across the south will soar once again to highs in the mid-teens this afternoon. For perspective, the normal daytime high for Winnipeg, Brandon and Dauphin is 8 C and 9 C. South winds will be stronger Wednesday afternoon in the southwest, but only expected to reach speeds around 20 km/h. Winds will be even lighter across the southeast and sunny northwestern Ontario this afternoon where temperatures will also rise into the mid-teens this afternoon. Sunshine and unseasonably warm double-digit temperatures are also expected Wednesday across central and most of northern Manitoba. Northernmost areas of the province will be relegated to single-digit highs. That said, those temperatures are mild considering the normal late-October daytime high in Churchill and Tadoule Lake is just -1 C. Back in Winnipeg, daytime highs could catapult into the low 20s on Thursday and Friday. Count on continued sunshine Thursday. The chance of showers has decreased significantly for Friday but can’t entirely be ruled out. Otherwise, look for a mix of sun and cloud. But since all good things must come to an end, look for temperatures to peak in the mid-teens Saturday morning before falling in the afternoon. Things should get back to normal Sunday, with more seasonal single-digit temperatures returning. It will have been a very good run.
