As the week unfolds, the temperatures keep rising across southern Manitoba. Most communities across the region will enjoy unseasonably warm daytime highs Tuesday around 18 C or 19 C, including Winnipeg and Brandon. While not record-breaking heat, those temperatures are 10 degrees above normal for both cities. South winds could strengthen to around 30 km/h in parts of the south, but all things considered, we can’t ask for much better weather for late October. How long will a good thing last? Sunshine and soaring temperatures look to continue through Thursday before conditions inevitably begin to change. Friday will be warm, but cloudy, with a low chance of showers in Winnipeg. Sunshine will return Saturday, but temperatures are expected to fall to around 9 C in the afternoon, after reaching a morning high near 13 C. Further north, most central and northwestern regions will see at least some sunshine Tuesday, while rain tracks across the northeast in the afternoon. Central areas, including The Pas and Norway House, will be warmest this afternoon, with highs near 12 C and 13 C. Most northern regions will see highs Tuesday between 4 C and 8 C. Meanwhile, northwestern Ontario will bask in the Tuesday afternoon sun with warm highs between 16 C and 18 C.
