As much of southern Manitoba deals with blustery winds, heavy snow and blizzard conditions on Thursday, several school divisions, including all Winnipeg schools, have opted to cancel classes for the day. The following is a list of school and bus cancellations for Dec. 18, 2025: Winnipeg schools: Schools across the city are closed. This includes the Louis Riel, River East Transcona, St. James Assiniboia, Seven Oaks, DSFM, Pembina Trails and Winnipeg school divisions. Brandon School Division: Buses will not be operating outside the city but will run within Brandon. Alexander, O’Kelly and Spring Valley schools are closed. All other schools are open. Attendance at school is up to the parents where travel is required. Division Scolaire Franco-Manitobaine: A number of schools are closed in the DSFM, including Lagimodière, Gabrielle-Roy, Réal-Bérard, Saint-Joachim, Pointe-des-Chênes, Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Sainte-Agathe, Noël-Ritchot, Aurèle-Lemoine, Gilbert-Rosset, École Régionale Notre-Dame, La Source, La Source (Shilo), Saint-Lazare, Jours de Plaine, Saint Georges, École Lacerte, Voix des Prairies, Collège Louis-Riel, Centre scolaire Léo-Rémillard, Taché, Précieux-Sang, Roméo-Dallaire, Christine-Lespérance, and École Sage Creek. Fort La Bosse School Divison: All schools closed. Garden Valley School Division: All schools are closed. Grey Academy of Jewish Education: School cancelled. Exams rescheduled to Jan. 7. Hanover School Division: All schools closed. Interlake School Division: All schools closed. Lakeshore School Division: All schools closed. Lord Selkirk School Division: All schools are closed, buses are cancelled and staff are not expected to report to work. Prairie Rose School Division: All schools are closed. Red River Valley School Division: All schools are closed. Seine River School Division: No in-person learning and buses are cancelled. Staff should not report to their workplace; however, it is still considered a workday for teachers and divisional staff. St. John’s-Ravenscourt School: Closed to students and staff. Sunrise School Division: All schools closed. Turtle Mountain School Division: Schools are closed and buses are cancelled. A list of highway closures is available on the CTV News website.
