A rock duo from Quebec who became a viral success in 2026 are returning to Winnipeg next spring. Angine de Poitrine is hitting the stage at the Burton Cummings Theatre for two shows on April 6 and 7. The masked, polka dot wearing duo formed in 2019 and went viral in February 2026 following a live video performance on U.S. radio station KEXP. The group has performed around the world and throughout Canada, including in front of an estimated 70,000 people at the Montreal International Jazz Fest. They released their second album, “Vol. II,” in April, which won the 2026 Polaris Music Prize. They also won the 2026 Polaris Song Prize for their song “Fabienk,” becoming the first act to win both awards in the same year. The group performed at the Winnipeg Folk Fest this summer. Tickets go on sale on Oct. 30.
