A transport truck somehow was able to drive onto the Gordie Howe International Bridge last month before it was turned around by officers with the Canada Border Services Agency. CBSA says the truck entered from the U.S. side. It was intercepted before reaching the Canadian Port of entry. The vehicle was turned around and sent back to the U.S. A spokesperson says there are multiple security barriers and extensive fencing to prevent people from erroneously crossing. The new bridge is expected to open early 2026.
