Windsor Public Library’s (WPL) Central Branch will be on the move before 2028, when its current lease expires at the Paul Martin building. The library continues to reach out to the public for their important and valued input about the branch’s future. There will a public information centre on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Windsor International Aquatic Centre. Three library layouts and amenity options will be presented with a survey to follow. It’s an opportunity for the community to get involved. Jen Knights, CEO of the WPL, welcomes and anticipates healthy and positive suggestions from the public at-large. “We know often people like to see things live and in person,” said Knights. “So, the public info center won’t have a formal presentation, but we’ll have storyboards up so that people could see some concepts of what the new Central Branch could look like. And then we’ll have information on where the survey can be found on our website, or have paper copies available, should people prefer to fill one out on the spot.” The aim is to have a comprehensive plan for the new library location, architectural design, amenities layout in the not-too distant future, one that reflects the community needs and adds to a revitalized aesthetic in Windsor’s downtown core.
