Windsor police are reporting three motorists were booked for stunt driving in separate incidents in Amherstburg on Mother’s Day. On Sunday, the Windsor Police Service (WPS) reports an 18-year-old man was allegedly clocked at 142 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone around 12:40 a.m. in the 7000-block of County Rd. 9 in Amherstburg. Later that evening around 9 p.m., WPS reports a 22-year-old motorcyclist was booked for allegedly riding at 104 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone in the 100-block of Texas Rd. in town. And a few hours later, around 11:30 p.m., police stopped a 19-year-old driver allegedly travelling 167 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone in the 7100-block of County Rd. 9. WPS reports all three operators have had their vehicles impounded for 14 days while their licences have been suspended for 30 days. The service stresses stunt driving elevates the risk on the road for everyone and urges drivers to respect speed limits.
