PHOTOS: Stellantis unveils Windsor-built Chrysler Pacifica refresh in the Big Apple

Stellantis unveiled the revamped Windsor-made Chrysler Pacifica on Wednesday.

Stellantis calls the new-look Pacifica the ‘future face of Chrysler’ and expects the updated minivan to bring new life to the segment it continues to lead.

On Wednesday, the automaker unveiled the refreshed look of the Windsor-built 2027 Chrysler Pacifica at the New York International Auto Show — swapping the Art Deco aesthetic of the brand’s classic wing logo for a more futuristic, glowing take on the badge.

“Chrysler invented the minivan 43 years ago,” read a company statement from Matt McAlear, the Chrysler brand CEO, touting the brand’s market-leading position.

“This refreshed Pacifica builds on that momentum by delivering the perfect blend of new refreshed exterior design, new features, smarter technology with the beloved innovations our customers rely on.”

Sales figures for 2025 show a resurgence of the minivan segment as a whole.

Edmunds reports U.S. sales rose 21 per cent to 393,812 units and the Pacifica led with way with 110,006 units sold while its more budget-friendly Voyager model saw a 31 per cent sales jump to 15,792 units.

In Canada, the comeback was even more pronounced, surging 36 per cent over the previous year.

Minivan sales reached a five-year high in 2025 with 42,337 units sold. The Toyota Sienna was the top-selling model with the Windsor-built Pacifica and Grand Caravan together capturing the most market share.

Some of the highlights for the new Pacifica design include what the automaker calls a bold new front exterior flagged by that illuminated wing badge, which Stellantis says will serve as a blueprint for the next generation of Chrysler vehicles.

Driving into the future

The company says the modern refresh “changes the perception” of the brand. The new illuminated logo will be front and centre to that new feel, with a cross-car LED lighting signature signalling its roadmap to the future.

The Limited and Pinnacle trims of the minivan will see the vehicle “wake up” with a welcome animation including the centre lamp, signature lights, and Chrysler badge first to glow, followed by new “piano key” accent LED lights at each corner.

The new projector headlamps have a 17 per cent improved reach compared to previous generations.

The back of the van has also received attention, with a redesigned rear lightbar meant to complete a cohesive look. The company will also offer a blacked-out version for a more “aggressive stance” for the new Pacifica.

Olive Green will debut as a new paint colour for the model, along with an updated wheel lineup including new 18- and 20-inch designs for the Limited and Pinnacle trims.

New features

In addition to the exterior update, Stellantis has brought updates into the cabin.

The top-of-the-range Pinnacle trim will debut a standard model-exclusive Blue Agave interior colour with new finishes including a new Dark Platinum paint for the instrument panel.

The tech is also being refreshed, with the company renaming its Uconnect Theatre Group — the Family Tech Group — meant to give buyers more feature flexibility.

Drivers will also see new safety enhancements like turn signal-activated blind-spot and parking camera activations.

The Pacifica will also see a new standard option with its adjustable-height power liftgate, meant to allow safer access in low-clearance scenarios — like garage ceilings, carports, or parking decks.

Canadian-exclusive

In addition to the Pacifica refresh, Canadian customers will have exclusive access to the Chrysler Grand Caravan, which the company calls a “budget-friendly” entry point into the range.

It won’t see the same updates, with the company keeping to the “familiar” design while calling the model well-equipped.

The 2027 minivan lineup is available for order now with dealerships expected to receive the new vehicles this summer. Canadian pricing has yet to be confirmed.

Both the Pacifica and Grand Caravan will continue to be built at the Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant.
