Essex County OPP say a 15-month-old child has died after a crash on Highway 3. The Leamington Detachment is currently investigating the three-vehicle collision that took place at the intersection of Highway 3 and County Road 31, at the border of Kingsville and Leamington. OPP, Essex-Windsor EMS, and Kingsville and Leamington Fire Services responded to the crash on Monday at 10:10 a.m. Police say a passenger from the involved SUV, a 15 month-old male toddler was transported to hospital, with life-threatening injuries, has died from his injuries. The driver of the SUV, a 33 year-old woman, was transported to hospital with serious injuries. Three other occupants from other involved vehicles were transported to hospital with minor injuries. The Ontario Provincial Police Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Unit attended to investigate and have since left the scene. Area roads were closed during the investigation, but have since been re-opened. Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the crash or who may have dashcam footage of the collision.
