Hats on for Healthcare is back — with a day-long radiothon supporting Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH). The fourth annual charity event was a radiothon that ran Thursday at the hospital’s MET campus. Broadcasted live on AM800 CKLW, Virgin Radio, and 89X, the 12-hour event aimed to raise $100,000 for critical medical equipment and specialized programs. Donors can direct their support to more than 40 areas of care, including cardiology, oncology, and pediatrics. Organizers say the broader Hats on for Healthcare campaign has raised more than $700,000 for local hospital programs over the past 16 years. Stacey MacDonald is manager of philanthropy at Windsor Regional Hospital. MacDonald is grateful for the ongoing support from the public. “We’ve got up to 40 different programs that we’re supporting here at Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation,” said MacDonald. “We’ve raised over $700,000, and it’s gone to programs like cardiology and PE, pediatrics, and oncology. And it’s honestly about filling that gap where the community gets to really make that impact.”
