Despite not receiving his ultimate birthday wish, Essex’s Landon Bevan still followed through on his goal for his birthday. The eight-year-old helped raise upwards of $1,800 to support research and awareness for pancreatic cancer. “I think he is just overflowing with joy from the moment he woke up. He knew that today was a big day regardless,” said Ashley, Landon’s mom. CTV News first reported on Oct. 4 that Bevan was hoping worldwide star Mr. Beast would attend his birthday. Growing up, Landon would spend time with his Grandpa Roy watching Mr. Beast videos before he passed away in May due to pancreatic cancer. As part of a full Mr. Beast-themed party at Windsor’s Zap Zone, Landon and his friends participated for prizes. Ahead of the start of the celebration, Zap Zone handed Landon a $300 cheque to support his fundraising efforts. Even though Mr. Beast didn’t attend, it didn’t keep Landon from smiling ear to ear. “So even when he said he didn’t want gifts for his birthday and that he wanted to raise money… because he knows now it’s one small thing can make a huge difference,” Ashley said.
