The Amherstburg Ribfest is officially underway, as eager feasters gather downtown. Slow-cooked ribs and other event favourites were on the menu as people gathered for an early taste. Ramsay Street between Richmond and Murray is closed for the event this weekend. The parking lot behind Richmond businesses turned into the entertainment space. “It’s great, it brings the community together, it brings more people to Amherstburg,” said Crystal Grondin, who was at Ribfest alongside Cody LeClair. “It’s such a beautiful town and we love to see people come together and events like this.” Also in Amherstburg this weekend is Open Air Weekends, showcasing local businesses.
