Tatomir Farms in Leamington is offering a free slice of rhubarb pie to customers as the 2025 season is in full swing. “We got an immense amount of rain, and it really skyrocketed the rhubarb,” owner Dennis Tatomir tells CTV News. “It looks like we weren’t even in the patch last week.” Tatomir’s workers have been harvesting rhubarb for a week now and they will continue picking until the end of June. “We pick about 2,000 pounds a day,” Tatomoir says. Crews will then cut the greenery off the stalk, clean up the end, wipe the fruit down and place in boxes destined for grocery stores across Windsor-Essex and all over southwestern Ontario. However, his biggest client is based in Boston, Massachusetts. “We thought it might not go to Boston because of the tariffs, but it is going to Boston. There’s no hold back on that yet,” he says. “We make more (money) going to Boston because of the American money, too.” Free slice of pie To celebrate the 2025 season, Tatomir Farms is offering a free slice of rhubarb pie to customers starting Tuesday May 6 and running to Monday May 12.
