PENTICTON, B.C. - A Canada-wide warrant remains in effect for a suspect in the beating of a 22-year-old woman in Penticton, B.C.

The woman was reported missing on Saturday and was found by police the next day after she had been beaten and tied up for more than 12 hours.

She had gone to browse for second-hand furniture with her 22-month-old son when the attack occurred at a second hand store.

The woman needed surgery for cuts to her head and is expected to physically recover from her ordeal.

The suspect, identified as 35-year-old David Wesley Bobbitt, is being sought by police across B.C. and Alberta.

Bobbitt is wanted on a charge of attempted murder.
