Mounties in Chilliwack are asking the public for help locating the perpetrator of a hit-and-run crash that left a young woman with serious injuries Friday morning. The incident occurred around 6:40 a.m., while the 21-year-old woman was walking her dog at the intersection of McSwan and Rexford drives, Chilliwack RCMP said in a news release Friday afternoon. The vehicle that hit her—described by police as a white, full-sized pickup truck—reportedly stopped “momentarily” a short distance away from the crash, then drove away, police said. Paramedics from B.C. Emergency Health Services responded to the scene and assessed the woman, taking her to hospital for further treatment, according to police. Front-line officers have been canvassing the neighbourhood for surveillance video, and Mounties shared one still image of the suspect vehicle with their release. “Chilliwack RCMP is asking residents in the area to review their home security cameras and/or vehicle dashcam footage on Nov. 14, 2025, between the hours of 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. to assist in the identification of the pickup truck,” the release reads. “Given the location and time of day, the vehicle is likely registered to a local residence.” Police asked anyone with information to contact Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and quote file number 2025-48716.
