A 24-year-old man is dead after a workplace incident in northern B.C. A statement from the Quesnel RCMP says first responders were called to a workplace on Carradice Road, north of downtown Quesnel, at approximately 10:18 a.m. Friday. “A 24-year-old man is dead following the incident and police and WorkSafeBC are investigating,” the brief statement from the Mounties said. A spokesperson for WorkSafeBC said the agency was notified of “a serious workplace incident” in the Carradice Road area at approximately 11:25 a.m. “WorkSafeBC officers are attending the scene,” spokesperson Ashley Gregerson said in an emailed statement late Friday afternoon. “We do not have more information to share currently.” The industrial service road where the death was reported is home to multiple businesses, including an auto wrecking yard, a logging services company and the WestPine fibreboard mill, operated by forestry company West Fraser Timber.
