A 39-year-old woman remains in hospital after being struck by a dump truck on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside Wednesday morning. BC Emergency Health Services says it responded to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian at Columbia and East Hastings streets around 11:19 a.m. “Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition,” BCEHS spokesperson Brian Twaites told CTV News. As of Friday, police say the victim remains in hospital and the dump truck driver has yet to come forward. “The driver of the dump truck continued driving westbound and may be unaware of the collision,” Const. Megan Lui of the Vancouver Police Department said in a statement Friday. Anyone who witnessed or recorded dash-cam video of the hit-and-run is asked the contact the VPD Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
