Vancouver police say they have seized two firearms from people riding e-scooters over the past couple of days. In one instance, the Vancouver Police Department says a rider fled from officers after running a red light, and was found to be in possession of a semi-automatic .22-calibre firearm, body armour and illicit drugs. The suspect—who police confirmed to be 32-year-old River Rain Peters—had a Canada-wide warrant out for his arrest for being unlawfully at large. He now faces charges of possessing an unloaded prohibited or restricted firearm with readily accessible ammunition, possessing a firearm without a licence, and altering the serial number on a firearm. In the second incident, police say that a rider was involved in a collision and officers found an imitation firearm and a .22-calibre firearm at the scene. The department says it is also recommending firearms-related charges against that suspect.
