The remains of a woman recently reported missing in Mission, B.C., were found years ago, according to authorities. Mounties said they began investigating after a family member reported the woman missing on June 14, 2026, a statement from the detachment released on Wednesday said. “After Mission RCMP spoke with the woman’s family, it was determined that no one had seen her for a number of years,” the statement said. “Investigators worked diligently to try to locate the missing woman.” The B.C. Coroners Service was ultimately called in to assist and concluded that previously unidentified remains — found in 2024 — were those of the missing woman. No criminality is suspected, according to police. “Mission RCMP send their sincerest sympathies to the woman’s family, and hope that this news helps to bring some closure to what must have been a very difficult time in their lives,” the statement concluded.
