A tractor driver was airlifted to hospital after being rear-ended in Abbotsford Monday evening, according to police. The Abbotsford Police Department told CTV News the two-vehicle crash occurred on Vye Road east of Cole Road around 7 p.m. Police say a pickup truck and farm tractor were both travelling west, and the pickup truck collided with the rear of the tractor, causing it to leave the road and roll over. “The driver of the tractor sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment,” police wrote in an email. “The driver of the pickup truck did not suffer serious injuries, remained at the scene, and is co-operating with investigators.” The circumstances around the collision are under investigation, but alcohol has been ruled out. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash camera video is asked to contact the department.
