Police in Surrey, B.C., say a 37-year-old man has been charged following a lengthy investigation into child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM). Officers with the Surrey Police Service’s internet child exploitation unit launched an investigation in May 2025 after receiving reports that a suspect was accessing and possessing the material online. Police executed a search warrant at a Surrey home last August, where evidence was located and seized, the SPS said in a release Tuesday. “During the course of the investigation, investigators located over 14,000 CSAEM images and videos,” the release said. Last week, the B.C. Prosecution Service approved two charges against Wade Bruce Craig, according to police. He was charged on Aug. 4 with one count each of possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material and accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material. Investigators say Craig was arrested on Aug. 6 and released on conditions pending his next scheduled court appearance on Aug. 27.
