Police in Surrey issued a warning to parents and caregivers after someone reported finding a staple in a child’s Halloween candy. The Surrey Police Service is investigating the incident in the Clayton Height neighbourhood, which was reported Saturday. The staple was found in a Reese’s peanut butter cup, according to authorities. “Parents are reminded to check your children’s candy before your children eat it to make sure it is safe,” the warning from police said. Anyone who finds something suspicious while checking children’s candy is encouraged to call the Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502.
