Two of three hikers who went over a waterfall while hiking near Kimberley, B.C., have been found dead, according to authorities. The trio were hiking Meachen Falls on Labour Day when authorities received a GPS SOS notifying them of an emergency, the Kimberley RCMP said in a statement. A 68-year-old woman’s body was found that day “approximately halfway down the falls,” police said. A 35-year-old woman’s body has since been located and is expected to be recovered Wednesday, Mounties said in an update. The third hiker, a 35-year-old man, is presumed dead. “Efforts continue in order to locate and recover him,” the statement from the RCMP said. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased.” While an investigation is ongoing, police said none of the deaths are considered suspicious.
