The City of Vancouver is warning drivers heading in and out of downtown to expect delays on the Georgia Viaduct beginning Friday. Starting Oct. 2, the vehicle exit ramp off the viaduct to Main Street will be closed for around three months. The city says ongoing traffic impacts are expected to continue until spring of 2027. Drivers will see reduced lanes and delays on the viaduct and the sidewalk is anticipated to be closed for pedestrians for an extended period. The bike lane on the viaduct will not be impacted. Pacific Boulevard will also see some lane closures while work is being done above on the viaduct. The Dunsmuir Viaduct will not be affected by the repairs, and will remain open to westbound traffic, pedestrians and cyclists. The city is advising the public to plan ahead and expect delays when travelling around the area.
